How does the AI Search work?
AI Search scans the library catalogue to identify the top five resources based on relevance and presents the overviews of these resources. Additionally, it provides citations for these top five resources, along with options to view more results and refine search queries for better accuracy.
To use AI Search, you must be signed in to the Library (click on Sign in). Select the AI Search icon in the toolbar at the top of the page and simply pose your question.
Signed-in users can access AI Search in the following ways:
- Main Menu - On the Library Catalogue, select the AI Search icon in the Main Menu to open AI Search.
- Brief Results page - Select the AI Search widget to open the widget's dialog box.
AI Search Interface Overview:
- Left panel - Enables users to start a new search or view previous sessions that may include multiple questions.
- Right panel - Enables users to enter research questions and view their responses.
Please take note of the following when you use the AI Search:
- It does not search all the subscribed library resources, as some online content and print resources are excluded.
- Each question stands by itself, so follow-up questions are not currently supported. However, you can edit the first question.
- Search results may include resources that are not available in the SUSS Library, as it does not filter by availability (it uses the library's expanded search).
