How can I use Zotero to find the full text of a resource through SUSS Library?
Answer
To find out if a resource in Zotero is available through SUSS Library's subscriptions, follow these steps:
Configure the "Library Lookup" function in Zotero
- Open Zotero
- From the top menu, select Edit > Settings
- In the General tab, scroll down to Locate
- Under Resolver, select “Custom” > Enter the Library's resolver URL in the Base URL field: "https://search.library.suss.edu.sg/discovery/openurl?institution=65SUSS_INST&vid=65SUSS_INST:SUSS"
- Click the X button to close the settings (saving is not required)
Check Library Access for a Resource
- In Zotero, select the resource you would like to obtain the full text for
- Click the arrow icon
in the right-hand panel > select Library Lookup
Access the Full Text
- If the Library has access to the resource, you will be directed to it
- If the Library does not have access to the resource, you will be directed to the Library Search page
- If your resource is a book chapter/journal article, you may consider submitting a request for it through our Document Delivery Service:
- Select Sign in to log into the portal with your SUSS credentials (if necessary)
- Select Document Request and submit your request
Tips:
- Setting up the Library Lookup service only needs to be done once. After the initial setup, you can use Library Lookup directly from Zotero whenever you need to check access to a resource.
