How does the Library Search work?
There are three types of searches: Simple, Advanced, and AI Search:
1. Simple Search
The Simple Search is a basic keyword search, similar to using a search engine like Google.
- The default search interface has a single search box.
- Allows keyword searches across all indexed content.
- Supports Boolean operators, phrase searches, truncation, etc
2. Advanced Search
Advanced Search allows you to build a more precise and structured search using multiple fields and filters.
- Provides multiple search fields.
- Allows combining search terms with Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT).
- Supports field-specific searches (e.g., author, title, subject, ISBN).
- Enables limiters such as date ranges, material types, language, etc.
3. AI Search
AI Search lets you type full questions or natural language phrases.
The system uses artificial intelligence to understand your query and find conceptually relevant results.
